Randi B. Noyes's wrote The Art of Leading Yourself: Tap the Power of Your Emotional Intelligence (Cypress House) based on two seminar series called "People in Focus" and "Results-Oriented Self-Leadership" that she held at large companies in the United States and Norway in the 1980s and 90s. Since its launch, the book has become a bestseller with approximately 50,000 copies sold in Norway alone.

Her book was awarded the 2001 "Book of the Year" silver award for business in the United States. Contractual agreements are in place to print the book in 65 countries. In addition, the book has already been published in Sweden, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and the United States, and is forthcoming in Portugal in 2005.

In 2005 Leadership International launched its own e-Coaching program called Your e-Coach: The Art of Leading Yourself, which builds upon the content and principles covered in the book. Your e-Coach is an interactive program created for people who want a personal coach and discussion partner. If you would like to know more about the coaching program, click here.

Unlike many other books, this book does not attempt to change you. Instead, it asks you to look into yourself to find your strengths. The book builds upon four principles as a foundation for a happy and successful life, both personally and professionally:

1. Take responsibility for your own life — freedom, choice, and consequences.
2. Be true to yourself — know your deepest desires, goals, and values.
3. Use your emotional intelligence — use your feelings to think and make better choices.
4. Focus on your strengths — focus on the things that you are passionate about, otherwise you will simply be mediocre.
